2024 Construction Projects
Road Resurfacing Projects- The Village will be doing $1.5 million in road resurfacing this summer/fall. This includes a joint project with the Village of Crestwood to resurface 143rd Street from Pulaski Rd to Cicero Avenue.
Sanitary Sewer Manhole Rehabilitations- The Village will be hiring a contractor to do some mandated rehabilitation work to various manholes in the Southwest quadrant of town, Pulaski to Kostner and 147th street to Waverly Avenue. This project will start in the summer/fall of 2024.
Lead Service Line Replacement - The Village has received $2.755 million in funding from IEPA to replace lead water service lines. Phase 1 of lead service line replacement will use all this funding to replace as many service lines as possible. This project will start in the summer/fall of 2024. The Village is expected to secure more funding each year that will help with the cost to replace all lead service lines over a few years.
The Village is planning to replace all village streetlight heads with LED fixtures this coming year. This will result in significant savings in power costs.
