What is the Community Policing Committee?
The Community Policing Committee is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to the enhancement of resident and neighborhood safety. This is accomplished by sponsoring and promoting programs beneficial to all residents of the Village.
Some of these programs are:
- Nixle Alert System
- Youth Services

- Crime Prevention Services
- Prescription Drug Take-Back

Citizens On Patrol
The committee organized a Citizens on Patrol Program that enlists the support of residents to conduct "walking patrols" of all neighborhoods within the Village.

Patrols are conducted several times a week, depending on volunteer availability, as a show of support to law enforcement and a viable deterrent to crime. The patrols provide volunteers with the opportunity to observe firsthand all of the neighborhoods within the Village and interaction with residents of each neighborhoods. Walkers also assist the Village by providing information concerning various issues needing attention that are discovered during the patrols.
The patrols are also a great way to get some healthy exercise and meet other residents!
