The Village of Midlothian is governed by a Village President and a board of six trustees. Each trustee is responsible for a specific division of Village operations; Health and Welfare, Public Safety, Public Works, Building and Zoning, Administration and Finance, and Community Affairs and Development. Several public commissions and advisory boards, appointed by the Village President with approval of the Board of Trustees, assist the Board in its responsibilities. These include: Plan Commission, Safety Committee, Police and Fire Commission, Beautification Committee, Raday Lodge Board, and Emergency Services Disaster Agency. 

Village Board meetings are held the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the Village Hall chambers.
