Police Department
The Midlothian Police Department was established by ordinance for the protection of lives and property, the enforcement of federal and state statutes and village ordinances, and to perform related police functions within the Village.  The Police Department has a full-time staff of 24 police officers and six civilian employees, and a part-time staff of six police officers and 12 civilian employees.

Fire Department 
The Midlothian Fire Department has a Class 4 fire protection rating to afford home and business owners one of the lowest insurance rates in the southwest suburbs and unparalleled fire protection. Two fire stations are staffed with 15 full-time firefighters and 20 volunteers. 26 of the staff are certified as (EMT's) emergency medical technicians.

Building Department
The Village's Building and Zoning Department Chairman and inspectors work together to check new construction plans, issue building permits and condemnation orders, and enforce Midlothian's strict building and zoning codes.

Public Works

Public Works provides a wide variety of services spread over Street, Water, and Sewer Departments. Regular business hours are 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Monday through Friday.
