About the Program


Public Act 97-0287 (Electronic Products Recycling & Reuse Act) establishes a statewide system for recycling and/or reusing the items listed below discarded from residences by requiring electronic manufacturers to participate in the management of discarded and unwanted electronic products.

Covered and Eligible Devices:


Effective January 1, 2012 all of the covered electronic devices listed below are banned from landfills.

Computers (Any)
Facsimile Machines
Videocassette Recorders
Video Game Consoles
Electronic Keyboards
Portable Digital Music Players
Small Scale Servers
Scanners
Electronic Mice
Digital Video Disc Players
Cable Receivers
Satellite Receivers
DVD Recorders
Digital Converter Boxes
Cell Phones
PDAs Computer Cables

Residents can also drop off e-waste at the Bremen Township Electronics Recycling program
(Two locations available.)

 If you need to get rid of a TV, Best Buy does accept some TVs. Please see their website for updated terms and pricing.  Best Buy also accepts batteries, cell phones, shredders and some appliances.
