Welcome to the Village of Midlothian website. As the fire chief, I take pride in our employees as they carry out our mission: to serve the public and safeguard the community from the impact of fire, medical and environmental emergencies through education, emergency services and enforcement.

Our fire department strives towards attributes such as Honor, Courage, Pride and Duty. We take each of these attributes seriously. We believe that serving the community is an honor and we hold ourselves to the highest standards. We take pride in our professionalism, whether we're utilizing our training or offering a simple gesture of comfort to those we serve. We understand that our service is our duty to our community and that we carry it out in the finest tradition of the fire service.

Services


The Midlothian Fire Department is a combination fire department that employs 16 full time personnel and approximately 16 part-time personnel. We respond to fire and emergency medical incidents in the Village of Midlothian 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Midlothian Fire Department responds to just under 2,000 fire / rescue and medical emergencies each year. 
The Midlothian Fire Department has just recently upgraded their ambulances to transport residents and visitors by Advanced Life Support. The fire department currently has 3 ALS ambulances that transport to 5 area hospitals including Metro South Medical Center (Blue Island), Ingalls Hospital (Harvey), Advocate South Suburban (Hazel Crest), Palos Community Hospital (Palos Park) and Christ Hospital (Oak Lawn). 
Our Firefighters / Paramedics attend regular training as well as continuing education in accordance to state training standards . All of our members have extensive firefighter training and certification through the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal including many specialized areas.
